Sing it baby!

SCHOOL'S OUT FOR THE SUMMER!!!

Last Friday was my kids last day of school and Chris & my last day of work. It's amazing how different my perspective is looking at the end of the year as a teacher vs. just being a parent. The past few summers I was DREADING having the kids home all the time, wondering how the heck to entertain them all summer long. This summer I was counting down with them! I am SO looking forward to sleeping in, lounging by the pool if the weather will ever cooperate!:( and just hanging out with the girls. It's amazing how fast time flies when your kids are in school. Amazingly, we are looking at 5th and 6th grades this fall. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN? Who knows! I just know that this summer my job is to enjoy my girls and thank my lucky stars I don't have to go to Girl's Camp! :)

The Cure concert

OK Leslie & Deanna here you go...

Chris and I (that's us!) went to Red Rocks Amphitheater to see The Cure. Can I just start this off by saying what an amazing venue it is! Absolutely beautiful! These pictures don't do it justice!

My very first concert was The Cure the summer I turned 17. I saw them in Salt Lake City. I have a hard time believing that it was 16 years ago. Man... I'm old! Anyway, I really didn't have much appreciation for them at the time because I had barely started listening to them. This time was much different! Can I just tell you, seeing Robert Smith walk out on stage... it gave me goosebumps. He is so fascinating to me. He is just SO darn cool! They came on at about 8:30. They played for THREE hours! Can you imagine? Three hours of Robert Smith, with my husband, and with no kids! What a great night! We didn't get home until 1:00 am and the alarm went off at 6:00am for school this morning and I think that I may be getting a little too old for this... but it was just way too much fun and I am SO glad we went!

We were in row 42 so these pictures aren't the best, but you'll at least get the idea!

Thank you Tara!

A visit from Grandma & Grandpa

My dad and stepmom were in the process of moving from Ohio to Oregon and they stopped by for a short visit. A very short visit. They got here Monday evening, were here Tuesday and then left Wednesday morning. It was great getting adjusted by my dad and it was a very nice to catch up with them. They also brought me my grandpa's desk that is now sitting nicely in the middle of my living room (until I find it a permanent home). It's nice to have this little piece of my grandpa in my home. He was a great man and I love having it here.

On a happier note...

I just need to say that I don't know what in the world I would do without my friends. Tonight I was in need of a mini muffin pan so I called Tara. I knew if she didn't have one, she would know who would. I was right. Tara didn't have one but she gave me a list of people who would. The first person I called had one. So I ran to Leslie's house to pick up the mini muffin pans. While I was there I was explaining how I had been looking for the liners for the mini muffin pans. (Those things weren't as easy to find as I thought!) Leslie suggested Bed, Bath & Beyond. Leslie, you're a genius! Not only did they have them, but we were able to see a man peeing in the parking lot! Tara, I'm sad you're moving. I don't know what I'm going to do without you! And Leslie, you better not move any time soon or I'd have to... to... well I don't know just what I'd do. Just don't move! Thanks girls.

Something else we saw...

Tonight Chris and I ran to Bed, Bath & Beyond to get something and then we saw something when we were in the parking lot getting into the car. About 2 parking spots over there was a guy standing next to his truck and he had his little wee wee hanging out and he was peeing in the parking lot. I thought to myself, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU, DUDE? THAT'S DISGUSTING!!! Too bad I didn't have my camera this time! :)

We saw the funniest thing the other day!

Megan and I were picking Sidney up from a friend's house and in their neighbor's driveway was this sight. I'm glad I had my camera because I thought it was so funny to see this fox maxin and relaxin on top of a car! Only in Colorado!
