So this has been a really great spring break. The weather has been beautiful, Chris & I have both been off work, no school for the kids, what more could a girl ask for? So yesterday we decided to be all ambitious and hike the incline with our friends the Roncos. It was SO hard! I honestly couldn't believe how tough the kids were through the whole thing. None of us made it all the way to the top but Chris, Ron, Jared, Johnny and Megan came awfully close. I was really impressed!

2 down... 2 to go!
OK... here's an update. We paid off our second credit card today. YAHOOO!!!! We have two more to go. I wish we were halfway there in dollars too, but it won't be too long. If all goes according to plan (knock on wood) we should have the next card paid off in 2 months. Here's hoping there aren't too many bumps in our road!

Last, but not least...
Something really cute happened at work today. Chris and I work in the same elementary school. I'm the librarian and he teaches 4th grade, so all of the kids know me, but mostly 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders know who he is. So today (because we have kids in 4th and 5th grades we aren't allowed to proctor the CSAP tests for those grades) we ended up in a 2nd grade classroom and that teacher went to proctor the test. One of the kids came up to me, realizing that both Mr. AND Mrs. Nicolaysen were in the room, and says...
"MR. Nicolaysen? Is he your brother?"
It made me laugh! I love 2nd graders!

I like big butts and I cannot lie!
Reason #1 why I love my daughter Megan:
She loves stuffing this pillow in her pants and gallivanting around the house with her "BIG BUTT!" She giggles and laughs like there is no tomorrow. The rest of us get a good laugh too. It's SO CUTE!

Basketball is here!!
Sidney is in heaven. Basketball has finally started. It is certainly her sport of choice. I love that they start playing in 5th grade. They finally keep score and we have winners and losers, but they can't play defense past half court, and they hardly call any traveling, double dribbling or anything like that. So it's still pretty simple, but she loves it!

I need some cheese... I'm about to WHINE!!!
So I just have a quick complaint about this horrible, awful state (actual state, not mental state :) that I find myself living in today! Yesterday was BEAUTIFUL! The first day I had hope that spring is actually coming. Sunny, 73 degrees! BEAUTIFUL! The park was packed, there was a line coming out the door of Coldstone, people out walking in shorts. It was amazing. We wake up this fine, Sunday morning and what do I see? SNOW!!! I just can't wrap my brain around the fact that it can be 73 degrees one day and the very next day be 35, windy and snowy! It makes me miss Las Vegas in a big way. (Emily, you can't possibly miss this!) So my hopes are dashed that spring is ever going to come. I'm imagining sitting here in the middle of July with 30 degree temperatures. I need to get a grip, I know... but I am downright TIRED of it being so cold ALL THE TIME!!!
